Logistics Centre to be inaugurated today

PANCHKULA, MAY 19: Haryana Chief Minister Bansi Lal will inaugurate several buildings in Panchkula and will lay the foundation stone of the Adventure Sports Academy in Sector 3 tomorrow. The eight buildings will be inaugurated in the evening.

According to the programme, the inaugurations will start at 5 p.m. The Chief Minister will start with the inauguration of the shopping centre at the Mansa Devi Complex in Sector 4 here. This will be followed by the inauguration of Sainik Parivar Bhawan in Sector 12, the inauguration of the Ghaggar and Nadha bridge, Community Centre, in Sector 25, the Primary School in Sector 25, Judicial Complex in Sector 1, and the State Logistics Centre in Sector 6.

The State Logistics Centre in Sector 6 is a major project. The total expenditure incurred on this World Bank project is Rs 50.58 crore. The project started in September 1991 and will end this year. During the project period, 25,254 medical and paramedical staff were trained, including staff from voluntary organisations. Equipment worth Rs 14.50 crore was also purchased for use in Community Health Centres, Primary Health Centres and sub centres.
