Crime Watch -- Vadodara

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE  
Three held under PASA
Two persons, Kailashbhai Ganpatbhai Parmar and Baldev Ambalal Parmar, residents of Bakrawadi, were arrested under provisions of Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act (PASA) for their involvement in serious criminal activities and sent to Jamnagar district jail on Wednesday. Also, one Basantiben Bachubhai Rana, a resident of Navi Dharti in Golvad area, who was arrested on charges of bootlegging in the city, was booked under PASA and sent to the Sabarmati Central Jail in Ahmedabad on Monday.

Assaulted
One Amitbhai Khushal Parmar, a resident of Fatehgunj, sustained injuries on his ears after he was assaulted by one Ketan Kirti Kumar Rajpal on Tuesday evening. According to the police, Parmar had objected to Rajpal sexually harassing his sister. The accused then attacked Parmar with some sharp objects. A case has been registered.

Kidnapping case
The Sayajigunj police registered a case of kidnapping against one Nathu Chiman, a resident of Akota Railway Line, for eloping with a 10-year-old girl of the same locality. The police are looking out for the accused.

Cheating case
The J P Road police on Sunday registered a case of cheating against one Kishorebhai J Rai, a resident of Krishna Nagar on Dabhoi Road. According to the police, Rai used to work as an accountant in Urbhai Cooperative Housing Society and had misappropriated Rs 22,426 from the society's fund. Further investigations are on.

One externed
One Sanjay Gobind Tank, a resident of 42/43, Shaktinagar Society on Gotri Road, has been externed from the city and district for one year for his anti-social activities and criminal cases registered under the Bombay Police Act.

Hit-and-run
One Jaswantsinh Gulabsinh, a resident of Faramji Compound in Alkapuri, was knocked down by a speeding scooter (GJ-6-EE-8119) on Monday evening on the road opposite Faramji Compound. He died on the spot. The J P Road police have registered a case and are looking out for the accused.
