Teachers meet V-C

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, May 19: A group of M S University teachers met Vice-Chancellor Anil Kane on Wednesday to bring to his notice the matters that need attention and to provide suggestions for toning up the university administration.

They expressed their concern on how Senate meetings had become a farce and important business was not being transacted. As one of them pointed out, ``Important issues like clearance for the four teaching posts of the Faculty of Home Science, teaching posts for the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, and instituting gold medals have to be looked into.''

``Every faculty has its own computers, but very few of them know how to operate them,'' he said. He added that the administration should see to it that a training programme is conducted for the non-teaching staff of the university so that these systems could be utilised.

``There are no fax machines in the deans' offices, so important messages from the university office reach late,'' opined the professor. He added that there were parking problems, especially on the main campus.
