Mumbai in title clash with Hyderabad

KOLHAPUR, May 19: Favourites Mumbai and strong challengers Hyderabad stayed on course to win the title in the State Bank of India Inter-Circle kabaddi tournament currently in progress at the Chhatrapati Shivaji stadium here.

Mumbai scored its third straight win, beating Guwahati 54-24 to log six points in the round-robin league while Hyderabad had a convincing 56-11 win over Calcutta.

The wins have set up an exciting title clash for the morrow. Calcutta now need to beat Ahmedabad to claim third place, after thrashing Guwahati 32-12 in the morning today. Ahmedabad, the weakest team in the competition, suffered two defeats today. They were humiliated 56-10 by heavyweights Hyderabad. Guwahati beat Ahmedabad in the morning session.

Results: Calcutta bt Guwahati 32-12, Hyderabad bt Ahmedabad 56-10, Guwahati bt Ahmedabad 33-8, Mumbai bt Guwahati 54-24, Hyderabad bt Calcutta 56-11.
