EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
India lose by three runs
India paid the penalty for wayward bowling and sloppy top-order batting as they crashed to an upset three-run defeat with six balls left against Zimbabwe to suffer their second reverse and throw their World Cup aspirations into disarray. Needing to reach 253 in 46 overs, India were bowled out for 249 in 45 overs.

Lanka tumble
Tournament favourites South Africa crushed Sri Lanka by 89 runs with 14.4 overs to spare in the World Cup group `A' league match severely denting the holders' prospects of retaining the title following their second successive defeat. Sri Lanka were shot out for a measly 110 runs in reply to Proteas' 199 for nine.

Pakistan warning
Pakistan promised here on Wednesday to pay Scotland's tartan part-timers the perfect cricket World Cup compliment - by showing them absolutely no mercy.
