Britannia plans bonus issue

MUMBAI: The board of directors at Britannia Industries Limited will meet on May 26 to consider a bonus share issue, the company said in a notice to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) today. The company will also announce its results and dividend payout for the financial year 1998-99. The immediate reaction to the bonus news led to a sharp spurt of over 6 per cent in the scrip price. The stock closed at Rs 1,441 on the NSE registering a net gain of Rs 36. Analysts and brokers now expect a liberal bonus of 1:1 shares.

NSE declares 4 members defaulters

MUMBAI: The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has declared four trading members as defaulters from today for their failure in meeting their obligations/liabilities to the exchange/clearing corporation. The members who declared defaulters were: Vinitha Associates Pvt Limited, Inder Manohar Financiers Limited, KMF Securities Limited and Topaz Securities Limited, an NSE release said.

Edutech Informatics plan in state

MUMBAI: Edutech Informatics India Pvt Ltd (Informatics) has joined hands with three prestigious educational institutions to take computer education into the heartland of Maharashtra. The three institutes are Vidya Prathishthan which operates in the Baramati region, the Yashwant Rao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, based in Nasik and Terna Public Charitable Trust which is active in the Osmanabad region.
