SHILLONG, MAY 21: The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) today appealed to the Congress Working Committee to review its decision expelling P A Sangma, Sharad Pawar and Tariq Anwar from the party for six years, especially in the case of Sangma, who is accepted as a leader of the North-East.The MPCC, in a four-hour meeting, resolved it would abide by the CWC decision, but appealed to the party's highest decision-making body to reconsider the eexpulsion in the party's interest.
In another resolution, the MPCC appealed to Congress president Sonia Gandhi to withdraw her resignation for the sake of the party and the country.
The meeting also appealed to partymen to remain with the Congress and continue to work towards achievement of its goals and objectives.
