May 23: The BEST is considering introducing a `one-day ticket' on its buses, which would entitle passengers to a day's limitless travel on all its buses within city limits.According to a BEST spokesperson, the proposal made by General Manager V M Lal was under consideration and would shortly be placed before the undertaking's committee meeting. The proposal can be implemented only if it is passed by the BEST committee and then by the General Body of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
The ticket, costing Rs 15, could be purchased from bus depots and would also be transferable. A separate ticket for Rs 20 is also proposed to be introduced in Mira-Bhayander and Navi Mumbai. The scheme targets tourists and long-distance travellers.
