Fifteen year old `gangraped' by six youths in Gorwa

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, May 23: In a gory crime reeking of premeditation, a 15-year-old girl was gangraped by six youths in the Gorwa area on Saturday night, the police said on Sunday. The principal accused is the girl's classmate, who reportedly went out of his way to impress and woo her for the past couple of months.

The girl, who met the principal accused in her Ellora Park tuition class, was reportedly offered a lift by him in a Tata Sumo (GJ-6-W-5166) on Saturday night and driven towards the Sevasi village near Gorwa. There they were joined by five motorcycle-borne youths, who then reportedly took turns in raping the girl.

Later, according to the police complaint, the girl was dropped off close to her home near Gorwa workshop in the same vehicle. The chief accused, who lives in a nearby locality, had been apparently trying to impress the girl with a series of borrowed vehicles.

As soon as she was dropped home, the girl complained to her uncle; her parents, who were away visiting a relative in Maharashtra, rushed home and lodged an FIR under Section 376 IPC on Sunday morning.

The police said the Tata Sumo had been impounded and a couple of youths picked up for interrogation.

The girl's father, a small-time worker at Petrofils, said he was shocked to know ``what went on in private tuition classes''. ``I want the police to take strict action against the accused so that others may be discouraged from such acts'', he said.
