MUMBAI, MAY 26: Bharti-BT Internet became the third national player to roll out internet services with its launch on Tuesday at Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. The internet service provider (ISP) has decided to price its products at the existing market levels thus ruling out the possibility of a further drop in access charges for now.Following in the steps of Satyam Infoway, it has launched a 25-hour package priced at Rs 990, in addition to 75, 150, 300 and 500 hour packages priced at Rs 2390, Rs 3990, Rs 6590 and Rs 8990, respectively.
It has also introduced a monthly access plan under which users pay Rs 590 for 20 hours per month with Rs 12 for every additional hour and Rs 890 for 40 hours per momth with Rs 8 for every additional hour.
A company statement said the ISP would invest Rs 50 crore in internet services during the first phase and expand to 27 cities in a year's time. The services would be marketed under the brand name Mantra Online which would also be developed as a portal featuring news,analysis, celebrity interviews and information on movies and sports events.
