PATNA, MAY 28: The CBI has issued a fresh notice to RJD president Laloo Prasad Yadav to interrogate him in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case charging him with having accumulated wealth totalling Rs 42.5 lakh in excess of his known sources of income.CBI sources told PTI that the agency's Superintendent of Police (Patna) Harinath Mishra had yesterday served the notice on Laloo at 1600 hours seeking to re-examine him tomorrow.
The sources, however, said Laloo in a letter to Mishra today pleaded that he could not make himself available to the agency tomorrow for the purpose as he was already preoccupied. Yadav requested the agency to fix June eight for his examination again, the agency sources added.
Yadav was subjected to a gruelling interrogation for six hours on October 21, 1998 by CBI in connection with the instant case.
CBI had yesterday re-examined Chief Minister Rabri Devi for an hour and a half at her official residence here.
The agency in its FIR states that the formerchief minister had amassed wealth of Rs 50.56 lakh including Rs 3.04 lakh shown in income tax returns.
The income shown by Yadav under the salary head stood at Rs 5.04 lakh while the amount earned by his wife Rabri Devi from dairy farm was to the tune of Rs three lakh.
