Kehar Singh to be honoured

PATIALA, May 28: The Punjabi Vikas Manch has decided to honour Kehar Singh, eminent Sikh scholar and trade unionist, on his appointment as chairman of the Punjab School Education Board. This was disclosed by Avtar Singh Arora, chairman of the manch, and Parvinder Singh, general secretary in a joint statement today.

The function, which will be held here tomorrow, will be presided over by Prof Manjit Singh, Jathedar of Takht Keshgarh Sahib. Professor Inder Pal Singh, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, will be a special invitee.

Prominent among others scheduled to attend the function are Jabir Singh Ahluwalia, Vice-Chancellor of Punjabi University, and Gurcharan Singh Arshi, director, Planning and Monitoring, Punjabi University.

BSP meeting on May 31
Patiala: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has called a special meeting of its cadre on May 31 at Balbehra to discuss the issue of the forthcoming parliamentary elections. Tarsem Singh Kamboj, district president of the BSP, will preside over the meeting and many senior leaders are expected to attend, said paryt leader Joga Singh Panodhian in a statement today.
