Delhi fire claims 16

NEW DELHI: At least 16 people, including four children, were killed and nearly 100 injured when a major fire in a chemical unit engulfed the densely populated Lal Quan commercial area of the Hauz Qazi police station in Old Delhi on Monday. Casualties in the fire, which broke out at 3.55 pm, was likely to go up . Cause of the fire was unknown

Najam Sethi trial

ISLAMABAD: Three weeks after he was arrested, prominent journalist Najam Sethi was charged with conducting anti-state activities, the attorney general said today. The charge was laid by the police. The authorities said they would hand over Sethi to the police to be tried under ordinary laws of the land.

CBSE results

NEW DELHI: The results of the Senior School Certificate examination (XII) 1999 will be declared on June 2, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Controller of Examinations, Pavnesh Kumar has said.
