NEW DELHI, MAY 31: Now that the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has assured that it won't cut power supply to the Capital from this month, the Delhi government has taken one more step towards settling its dues to the corporation.Today, it decided to pay Rs 25 crore per month to the NTPC from October onwards, though officials are yet to agree with the NTPC's notice that Rs 2,000 crore is pending as outstanding dues.
At a meeting -- the second in less than a week -- between Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Power Minister Narendra Nath and NTPC chairman Rajinder Singh, the former insisted once again that the Centre should clear a large portion of the outstanding dues, since it managed the DVB's previous previous avtaar till 1997.
