Former Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh K Madhava Roa is the chairman of the committee while O P Sharma, chief general manager, Urban Banks Department of the Reseve Bank of India. The committee will evolve the objective criteria to determine the need and potential for organising urban cooperative banks, review the existing entry point norms and examine the relevance of special dispensation for the least developed areas. The committee will submit its report to the Reserve Bank of India before September 30, 1999.
