Kargil has exposed Pak motives -- Sharma

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, May 31: BJP spokesman and national vice-president of the party, Krishan Lal Sharma today said the Kargil episode had exposed Pakistan internationally and cautioned that "Pakistan would be simply mistaken if it thinks that India's goodwill gestures are only a one way traffic.

India wants to solve the disputes with Pakistan through peaceful bilateral dialogue, but at the same time, India shall not compromise on the question of the country's security and territorial integrity." In a statement here, he said it had been revealed beyond doubt that the recent massive infiltration in Kargil sector was part of a deep-rooted conspiracy by the Pakistan Army to change the Line of Control (LOC).

"The Kargil misadventure at the behest of the Pakistan Army is bound to prove costly and counterproductive for Pakistan itself." The senior BJP leader said the timely and firm decision on the part of Indian government, had enabled the Indian Army to thwart the dangerous game plan of Pakistan.

"BJP demands that the government should go ahead with its plan and the Army action, including air strikes, should be carried to its logical end," he said.
