BANGALORE, MAY 31: The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) on Monday denied reports that former Union ministers C K Jaffer Sharief and M Rajashekara Murthy, were considering joining the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) floated by rebel Congress leader Sharad Pawar.Addressing a press conference here, party state unit president S M Krishna said the two leaders ``would never think in terms of quitting the Congress''. Their loyalty to the party was unquestionable, he added.
Murthy, who was conspicuous by his absence for most part of the AICC session in New Delhi and had criticised the party's decision to expel Pawar, P A Sangma and Tariq Anwar, had agreed to join Krishna during the tour of the state by Congress leaders, he added.
Asked whether the coming together of Chief Minister J H Patel and Pawar would have any impact on State politics, he said, ``Two zeros do not add upto anything''.
The Congress will bring out a booklet highlighting the failures of the Janata Dal government in the lastthree years, he informed. Krishna said that the Congress had impressed upon the Chief Election Commissioner on the need for simultaneous polls to the Assembly and the Lok Sabha to save excess expenditure to the national exchequer.
