Lahore bus still booked to full capacity

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
NEW DELHI, Jun 1: The Delhi-Lahore bus service, launched as a symbol of a new emerging relationship between the two South Asian nuclear neighbours, is not only operational but also booked to capacity in advance, notwithstanding the ongoing border clashes in Kashmir.

"I have no seats to offer till June 15," Delhi Transport Minister Parvez Hashmi told PTI when asked about the service, started in March this year following Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's historic bus journey to Lahore in February. While terming the clashes as "unfortunate", Hashmi asked, "but why should the poor passengers suffer due to it? He said bus service between the two countries which runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, is booked to capacity and has not been affected by the recent developments.
