`Most dedicated Indian team ever'

United News of India
London, June 1: The Indian team taking part in this World Cup is the most dedicated and disciplined ever to have represented the country and abroad'', according to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Raj Singh Dungarpur.

Speaking at a reception hosted for the team by Indian High Commissioner Lalit Man Singh, he said the team has proved beyond doubt that it has the fighting capabilities. ``We were two down but won the next three matches to make it to the Super League. We are going into the super league without any point and this itself motivate the boys to go for win in all the three matches,'' he said.

``Next time when you invite us here, Mr High Commissioner, I hope it will be on June 21 after we win the Cup,'' he said.

The function was attended among others by former Indian Prime Minister VP Singh, West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu, former Indian skipper Kapil Dev and large number of prominent Indians.

Lord Jeffrey Archer, who was a special invitee, lavishly praised the Indianbatting and hailed Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Saurav Ganguly as the ``best batting trio in the world.''

``They have given new meaning to batting,'' the Lord said while admitting he was sad his country was eliminated by the Indians.

Archer, a well known author, said, ``I am an avid cricket fan and I have watched Sachin's career graph since he was 17. It is always a joy to watch this youngster from Mumbai.'' He added in jest, ``If I had my way I will have the whole Indian team locked in the Tower of London for ousting England from the World Cup.''
