Fernandes draws fire again
Defence Minister George Fernandes seems to have put the Government in a spot once again with his premature declaration that the Kargil infiltrators would be given "safe passage" if they agreed to withdraw from Indian territory.
India shops abroad for ammunition
India is concluding negotiations to buy around 100,000 rounds of varied ordnance from abroad to replenish ammunition expended over several weeks in the Kargil conflict for around Rs 200 crore.
