Watches worth Rs 6.82 lakh stolen, 3 held

MUMBAI, JUNE 3: Three youths were arrested on Thursday on charges of stealing cash and wrist watches totally worth Rs 6.82 lakh from a watch showroom at Santacruz (West).

On a tip off, Unit-7 of the Crime Branch arrested the trio near Najabhai Jewellers at Bandra (west). The accused, identified as Prem Bahadur Sawant (21) alias Vikram alias Danny, Satish Gaikwad (21) and Ashok Bharadwaj (20), had broken into the showroom of Jayesh Watch Company located in Shridarshan Building lat on Monday night and escaped.

The robbery took place just four days after a major theft reported in Girgaum in which a gang of four was arrested on May 27.
