XIC course in brand values

The Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC) along with the Creative Directors' Club to create a four-month course for those who want a career in creating value for brands. The course has been designed as a series of workshops conducted over weekends. Participants will create a portfolio of work that covers print advertising, TV advertising, radio, outdoor media, Sales promotion;, events, direct marketing and netvertising. Wilderness programme

The Cathay Pacific and the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups have been inviting students between 14-18 years to participate in the Cathay Pacific Lapalala International Wilderness Experience Programme every year. On April 27, two students from the Gokuldham High School were selected at the Cathay Pacific Environment Competition held at the Bombay Natural History Society's Conservation Education Centre at Goregaon. The students will represent India to participate in the CathayPacific Lapalala Wilderness Experience in South Africa in July this year.

Free painting workshop

Valentino, in Association with the Camlin company, is organising a free painting workshop on June 4, 5 and 6. The workshop includes activities like fabric and greeting card painting. All prize winners will get prizes from Camlin and free basic introduction to computers by Valentino. Camlin will also give course certificates to all participants. Leucoderma camp at Vashi

The All India Leucoderma Eradication Charitable Trust is organising a free leucoderma camp on June 6 at Sri Guru Singh Sabha, plot no 4, Sector 9A, Vashi. (phone no: 7667545). The camp, organised on the first Sunday of every month for the past eight years between 9 am and 1 noon, will be conducted by theBangalore-based Dr P C Agarwal. Registration commences at Bhai Kanhaiya Charitable Clinic, Shri Guru Singh Sabha, Vashi.

Environment Day programmes

WWF-India is organising two programs for World Environment Day, 1999: on June 5, a poster competition for children between the 8-12 years and 12-16 years will be held at King George School, Dadar (E) at 10.15 am. And on June 6, beach cleaning activity will take place at Dadar beach. To participate, call on 2078105 or 2075142 from 9.45 am to 5 pm between Monday to Friday.Classes in Hindi, Urdu n HINDUSTANI Prachar Sabha will conduct free Hindi and Urdu classes from June 1 from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm. Blood donation drive on Sunday

Sunday Friends will be organising a blood donation camp on June 6 at Matunga Gujarati Club, near Aurora Cinema, Matunga. Thecamp will be held from 8.30 am to 1.30 pm. Only disposable needles will be used, and donors are requested not to come on an empty stomach.
