PPCC seeks probe into murder PATIALA: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Ramesh Kumar Singla today urged the district administration to order a probe into the alleged murder of Bant Ram Goyal, an Aarhti leader of Nabha, to get a clear picture of the case that had created so much tension at Nabha recently. In a statement here today, Singla, while condemning the registration of police cases against former chief minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and senior Congress leader and a Nabha-based journalist Shushil Jain, said they had nothing to do with the case and both had visited the site after the incident was over.`Withdraw false case against Bhattal' KHARAR: The Punjab Pardesh Freedom Fighters' Association has threatened to launch a state-wide agitation if the "false" case registered against former chief minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal was not withdrawn within a week. In a press release issued here, Association general secretary Des Raj said the case against Bhattal was politically motivated. "She was in no way involved either in stone-throwing or inciting the mob," he said and added that dharnas would be staged at the district headquarters if the case was not withdrawn and no action was taken against the concerned police officials. SDM speeds up issuance of licences KHARAR: Kharar SDM A. S. Dhindsa has said that the work of issuance and renewal of driving licences and registration certificates of vehicles at his office has been speeded up with a view to minimise the hardships faced by the public. He said the work would be completed on a priority basis. He has urged the residents to submit their files, complete in all respects, at his office for for the same.
