Teach Pak a lesson, says Acharya Pushpdant

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
AMBALA, JUNE 3: Acharya Pushpdant Maharaj, temporal head of the Digambar Jain sect, has defended the Army action against the infiltrators in the Kargil sector and said that the forces should push back the infiltrators and teach Pakistan a lesson. The Acharya was interacting with a group of intellectuals from different sections of the society last evening.

Deviating from the path of non-violence preached and propagated by the Jains, the Acharya said a full-scale war against the infiltrators to protect the integrity and sovereignty of the country was needed of the hour.

He said India had never been the one to attack any of its neighbours, but it had now become imperative to act firmly with Pakistan as it had been creating disturbances on the Indian side for a long time.

The Acharya said India was passing through a critical phase and the intellectuals had to play their role in helping to protect the unity of the nation. He criticised the saints who had started taking too keen an interest in politics and said that they had degenerated themselves to the extent of being despised.

Adesh Kumar Jain, a leading advocate of Ambala and important functionary of the DAV educational institutions, organised this interaction.
