Top city colleges insist on higher level English

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
AHMEDABAD, June 3: Some 1,000 general stream students from Hindi, Marathi, Tamil and Kannada medium seeking admission to first year B.Com and B.A are being denied admission in English medium by the top city colleges.

The colleges are apparently taking only those students with English (higher level) in their HSC level, sources in the Gujarat University said. Since these students have English only as a second language, they are not getting a chance to get admission in the English medium.

Pro-V-C K S Shastri said these students are eligible to get admission in English medium.
