Srinath, Mankad in semis

New Delhi, June 3: The top four seeds in the third-leg of the ITF Men's Satellite Tennis Circuit made the semi-finals today.

On the fourth day, top-seeded Artem Derepasko of Russia headed for a semifinal clash with third-seeded Syed Fazaluddin. The two had last met in the finals of the second-leg at Mumbai where Derepasko won.

The other semifinal sees two Indians -- Bangalore leg winner and second-seeded Prahlad Srinath against fourth seed Harsh Mankad.

Mankad beat Andrei Youznyi 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 in just over two hours while Fazaluddin defeated sixth-seeded Vinod Sridhar 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.

Srinath, meanwhile, had an easy sailing against qualifier Minh Le (US) winning 6-4, 6-3 to book a place in the last four. Commenting on his semifinal clash with Mankad, Srinath said he expected a good match.

``I will just go and play my game, though I hope to play better than I did today,'' Srinath said. He had defeated Mankad in the semifinals in the first leg at Bangalore.

Derepasko defeated Uzbek Anton Kokurin intwo hours, 28 minutes 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (4).

Radhika in final

BANGALORE: Sheetal Goutham of Karnataka and Radhika Tulpule of Maharashtra caused upsets on their way to the finals of the AITA State Ranking Open women's tennis championship.

Third seed Sheetal beat her statemate and second seed Tara Kanbargimath 7-5, 7-5 in nearly two hours. In the other semi-finals, fifth seed Radhika whipped statemate and fourth seed Liza Pereira 6-2, 6-1 in 50 minutes.

Both Radhika and Sheetal are in line for a double. The pair has made it to the finals in the doubles beating Radha Devendrappa and Shereen Yousuf 6-0, 7-6 (7-0). They will meet Karishma Patel and Tara, who thrashed Liza and Sandhya Kanury 6-1, 6-2.
