IFS officer's wife booked for assault on parents

Prakash Rao
BHUBANESWAR, JUNE 4: Anjana Mishra, the estranged wife of Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Subash Mishra, has been charged with abusing her parents in filthy language and assaulting them.

Anjana's father SN Padhi has lodged a complaint in the Nayapalli Police Station in this connection. Police have registered a case under sections 323 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.

According to police, an altercation broke between Anjana and her parents at their IRC Village residence on Tuesday when the latter wanted to know about the reported visit of former advocate general Indrajeet Ray's daughter to their residence.

Anjana's mother Snehalata Padhi also expressed displeasure over the visit of Ray's daughter when Anjana allegedly abused her in filthy language and kicked her mother on her abdomen. She also slapped her father when he intervened, the complaint said.

The complaint also said that Anjana threatened her parents with dire consequences if they intervened in her matters.

Padhi and his wife Snehalata, who were away at Mumbai, had been staying in their IRC Village house for the last few days where Anjana is also staying presently.
