Picture of Bollywood actress found on body of Pak soldier

Vikram Jit Singh
SRINAGAR, JUNE 4: Of the three bodies of Pakistani Army regulars recovered from the Batalik sector today, one held a surprise article: the picture of a Bollywood actress with a bullet hole through it.

``The photo has some blood on it and seemed a dear possession of the Pakistani soldier who carried it with him all the way to Batalik on the suicidal mission,'' said an Army officer.

All the three soldiers are from the Northern Light Infantry Regiment (operating under the Forces Commanding Northern Areas), said Major General (General Staff) P P S Bindra at the Northern Command HQs at Udhampur.

The dead Pakistani soldiers were identified from the ID cards on their bodies as Mirbaaz Khan and Mehboob Ali of the 4 Northern Light Infantry and Siffar Khan of the 3 Northern Light Infantry, Bindra said.

The men recruited into the Northern Light Infantry regiment are drawn from the northern areas of Pakistan. The three Pakistani soldiers were wearing civilian clothes and had donned a fur-lined snow coat over thePathan suit.

The three bodies recovered today are in addition to the body of a Pakistani soldier recovered a few days back from the Batalik sector.

They were flown to the Badamai Bagh Cantonment here today. Documents recovered from the bodies include letters, visiting cards, ID cards and even a birth certificate.
