BSP unit holds dharna in Mohali

SAS NAGAR, June 4: The local unit of the Bahujan Samaj Party today staged a dharna outside the Sub-Divisonal-Magistrate's office in Phase-1, to protest the alleged registration of the panchayat land in the names of influential persons.BSP general secretary Mann Singh Manhera, while addressing the gathering alleged that the registration was being done with the aid of certain government officials.He alleged that the government was favouring the landlords and outsiders by allotting panchayat land demarcated for the developmental work of the village to them. He also demanded that the periphery Act be abolished.
