40-year-old labourer drugged
A 40-year-old labourer, Firoz Shaukhat Malik, a resident of Bhandwada near Rupam Talkies, was drugged by unidentified people near Kapurai Road Crossing on National Highway No 8 on Saturday evening, the Panigate police said. According to the police, Malik was waiting for somebody when he was approached by some unidentified people who offered him biscuits, which the victim ate. He then fell unconscious on the road after consuming just two biscuits and was rushed to SSG Hospital where his condition is stated to be under control.

Two dead
Two cases of accidental deaths were reported in the Panigate police station during the last 24 hours. According to the police, a 17-year-old girl Sangita C Machchi, a resident of Kishanwadi, committed suicide on Saturday night by consuming poison. The reason for the extreme step could not be ascertained, the police said, adding that investigations were on. In another incident, a 32-year-old Bapidas Montodas Bengali, a resident of Sayaji Park on Ajwa Road, died on Sunday afternoon after he suffered an electric shock while repairing an electrical gadget in his house.

Vehicles stolen
In three cases of vehicle theft registered by the police, three mopeds were lifted from different parts of the city during the last 24 hours. According to police, a moped (GJ-6-D-3015) worth Rs 7,000 was stolen from outside an optical shop near Sayajigunj police station, another moped (GJ-6-R- 2195) worth Rs 7,000 was stolen from the parking lot of an apartment in Fatehgunj and yet another moped (GJ-6-905) worth Rs 6,000 was stolen from near Blue Chips Complex in Sayajigunj.
