CHANDIGARH, JUNE 8: Celebrations were breaking out all over the city even before the last ball was bowled in the India-Pak tie in the Super Six. Minutes after Mustaq was out LBW the crowd started forming at late night joints around town, notably the Aroma Coffee House at Sector 22. The dancing was going strong as of midnight. Those who were calm enough to say anything besides "Yippee!!!" described the India-Pak tie as a maha-yudh, a battle of nerve as much as ability. For god-fearing Anita it was a India's day: ``If Pakistan can win on Friday, how can we lose on Tuesday?" she smiled. Anita spent the entire duration of the match reciting Hanuman Chalisa in front of her TV set.``It was our bowlers who did the trick,'' said an elderly lady who had been glued to the TV set all through the match.
``Victory over Pakistan is as sweet as winning the World Cup,'' gushed another cricket fan who identified himself as Waheguru.
I knew it ... I just knew we would win the match, I've had the feeling all day,'' said Rashmi, a PU student. She added: ``Our fielding let us down initially but finally the will to win triumphed. Now, whatever happens our team can come home with its head up.''
