Eighty five per cent quota for city students

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 8: The Chandigarh Administration has decided to enhance the quota of Chandigarh pool students in various technical institutes in the Union Territory from the present 60 per cent to 85 per cent.

As per the new policy, the UT pool quota will continue to be applicable to students who have passed their qualifying examination from schools and colleges in Chandigarh as regular students for two years, said an official press release here today. Such students would be eligible for admission to Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh College of Architecture, Government College of Arts and Government Polytechnics under the control of the UT Administration. The policy will be applicable from the next academic session, that is 2000-2001.
