VADODARA, June 8: With Library and Information Sciences (LIS) professionals having witnessed many radical changes, there has been a shift in the functioning of library activities. This was stated by Course Director Dr K H Shukla on Sunday, while delivering a lecture on the last day of the three-day workshop on `Computer and software application to library and information activities'.The workshop was organised by the Indian Library Association and Vadodara Association of Libraries and Information Centres on Friday. According to Shukla, LIS profession was a complex area involving intellectual community and any technological advancement affected the transactions involved. So professionals have to keep pace with the ever-changing technology and deliver the shifted goods to the information seekers, he further said.
``It is high time that the LIS professionals realise the importance of usage of computers and information technology in their activities,'' he added.
