EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, June 8: Last year's losing finalists, Northern Railway, entered the semifinal of the DSA-OBC Institutional football league when they earned a 3-1 win over Delhi Audit in a group B super league match at Ambedkar Stadium here today. In another match, Zakir Husain College held Central Secretariat to a goalless draw.Star-studded Northern Railway, who had earlier beaten Zakir Husain College by a 4-0 margin, recorded their second successive win to collect six points. They started the game today at a fast pace when mid-fielder Shyam Kumar and Harish Bisht created panic in the opponents' camp through their concerted efforts. Defender lalit Singh put them ahead in the 25th minute while outside-left P K Bhardwaj equalised for Audit in the 41st minute. Railways' outside-left Bhupender Sharma increased the lead a couple of minutes later and then substitute Mohd Kamil completed the tally. ZHC had a slight edge over Secretariat but their forwards missed several opportunities. Vinod Rawat's long-ranger was saved by Secretariat custodian L Shanta Kumar, Ramesh Yadav's try rebounded after hitting the cross-piece. Niraj Bisht also muffed an easy chance from close.
