Nawaz Sharif's effigy burnt in Sector 17

CHANDIGARH, June 9: The local unit of the Shiromani Akali Dal today burnt the effigy of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Sector 17 plaza while condemning Pakistan's violation of the Simla Agreement.

The unit also appreciated the stand of the Central government in order to deal with the sitaution and urged other parties, particularly the congress, to not seek political mileage from the situation, a press release issued by local Shiromani Akali Dal president Gurpratap Singh Riar and Secretary General Narinder Singh Minhas stated.
