India are back in bookies' reckoning

LONDON, JUN 9: After its thrilling 47-run win over Pakistan, India has got back into the reckoning with British bookmakers while Pakistan is drifting away from South Africa in the odds market here today. India wrested the crucial super six tie from Pakistan yesterday to raise faint hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals and bookmakers William Hill quoted India as 14-1 favourites to win the World Cup.India plummeted to 66-1 after it lost to Australia and Zimbabwe shared a point each with New Zealand following abandonment of their super six tie.Yesterday's result lengthened Pakistan's odds to 9-4 from 2-1 as South Africa emerged clear favourites at 6-4.
