MUMBAI, JUNE 12: In yet another shocking incident, an 86-year old woman was murdered in a posh apartment at Malabar Hill in South Mumbai on Friday night. The victim, Kishan Ramchandani, was staying alone in her seventh floor flat, number 78, at Jal Darshan building at Napean Sea Raod eversince the death of her husband 11 years ago. Ramchandani's 60 year-old daughter , Roshan Sujan, stays with her husband at Colaba. Ramchandani had hired a male servant just a couple of days ago. The Bihari servant used to come in morning and leave at night after completing the domestic chores.

On Friday, around 9 pm, Sujan called her mother who said that the servant was about to leave in ten minutes. When the daughter again called up in the morning, the phone kept ringing but nobody answered. Sujan then sent her husband to inquire after her mother's well-being. At around 12.30 pm, he reached Jal Darshan, opened the door with a spare key and found Ramchandani lying on the floor in a pool of blood. He immediately informed theAccording to the police, the woman must have been murdered around 9.30 pm soon after the telephonic conversation with her daughter. There were severe wounds on the back of Ramchandani's head. She also had injuries on her chest and hands. The police have found an empty Coke bottle from the incident site. Robbery is suspected to be the motive and the missing servant is the prime suspect in the killing. The servant was hired on the reference of another servant working in the same building. ``We are trying to trace him and his friend through whom he was employed. Both of them are missing,'' Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone-II, K Venkatesham said. The Malabar Hill police have registered a case of murder and are investigating.
