Saqlain's second hat-trick in one-dayers

S PERVEZ QAISER
Pakistan off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq became the second player in the world to claim a hat trick in a World Cup match. The 23-year-old player from Lahore achieved this feat during Pakistan's last Super Six match against Zimbabwe at The Oval on Friday (June 11).

Saqlain Mushtaq joined Indian speedster Chetan Sharma, who has the distinction of recording the first hat-trick in the World Cup.

Saqlain's hat-trick was 14th in ODIs. He had recorded his first hat trick against the same opponents at Peshawar in 1996-97. Saqlain is the second bowler to achieve two hat-tricks in one day internationals after his skipper Wasim Akram.
