Motorcycle thief arrested The Vasant Vihar police nabbed a motorcycle thief on Saturday. Vinod Kumar had allegedly stolen the motorcycle from Maurice Nagar last year. The police caught him during a routine check. When he was questioned, he was unable to give convincing answers. The police are making further inquiries on whether Vinod Kumar is involved in other cases too.Policeman killed
Two hit-and-run incidents came to light in Vasant Kunj on Sunday morning. In the first one, the body of a Haryana police constable was found on National Highway No 8 near Ganga Petrol Pump. The police said the constable had been crushed to death by some unknown vehicle. Identified as Jai Prakash, the constable had gone out for dinner when his companions last saw him. In the second incident, a 19-year-old cyclist was hit by a truck on Saturday evening in the area near Jawahar Lal Nehru University. The victim, Suraj Vishwa Karma, died on the spot while the truck fled from the scene. Witnesses say the registration number of the truck was DL1GB0791. In both cases, police have registered a case of rash driving and of causing death due to negligence for both cases.Quarrel ends in police station
A quarrel between two residents of Okhla ended up in the police station. Nathu Ram and Sunita Devi share a common wall in Tekhand Village of Okhla. The wall had broken and needed repairs. According to Nathu Ram, he was repairing the wall with the permission of his neighbours when they started complaining. Sunita alleges it was they who were getting the wall fixed when Nathu objected. A fight took place; Nathu's son and Sunita's husband got hurt. The police have filed charges of attempt to commit culpable homicide against both parties.Four arrested
The Uttam Nagar police have arrested four men who, they say, were preparing for a dacoity in the area on Saturday night. The four, Gaurav, 19, Ashu, 22, Bhaunesh, 22, and Diwan, 26, were caught after the police got a tip-off. Two country-made pistols, five stolen cars, two stolen motor cycles and one gold chain were found.3,000 rounded up by police
