Rana unveils statue
Union Textile Minister Kashiram Rana unveiled a nine-feet-high, 1,520 kg copper statue of Maharana Pratap at Kot Safil Road on Wednesday. Mayor Savita Sharda, deputy mayor Snehlataben Chauhan, standing committee chairman Ajay Choksi, leader of the house in the SMC Natu Soma Patel, chairman of the municipal finance board Fakirbhai Chauhan, chairman municipal school board Hitendra Chudawala and MLA Dheeru Gajera were present on the occasion.

Inauguration
Minister of State for Railways Ram Naik will inaugurate the computerised passenger reservation centre at the Vapi Railway Station on Friday. MPs representing the Union territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Mohan Delkar and Devjibhai Tandel, MLA Ramanbhai Patkar will be present at the ceremony.

Johny Lever show
Famous Bollywood comedian Johny Lever will take Surtis by storm at the Indoor Stadium on Saturday. This will be his first public show after winning the Filmfare award recently. According to directors of Kunvar Ajay Designer Sarees Pvt Ltd, the `Johny Lever Night' had been organised to celebrate the huge success of Kunvar Ajay sarees. Apart from Lever, 10 woman TV artistes and a team of famous dancers and musicians from Mumbai will regale the audience. About 5,000 saree distributors from all over the country are expected to attend the programme. Bollywood baddy Jack Gaud, who has earlier organised the Annu Kapoor-Pallavi Joshi Night and the Villains' Night, is the brain behind the show.

Kits for patients
Post-operative leprosy patients will be given rehabilitation kits on Saturday by the Comprehensive Leprosy Care Project and the Medical Association of Mumbai. Health Minister Ashok Bhatt, Water Resources Minister Narottam Patel, Law Minister Hemant Chaptwala, Mayor Savita Sharda and District Panchayat chairman Harshad Chaudhary will be present at the function to be held at the Gandhi Smruti Bhavan at 11 am.
