Burns death
Kaushalya Dadu Bhalerao (50), a resident of a slum near Dindoli Road, Limbayat, died of burn injuries in the New Civil hospital on Wednesday, the police said. She was cooking in her house at Santoshinagar slum on June 9 when the stove exploded, setting her clothes on fire, according to the case registered under CrPC 174.

Broker suicide
Ghanshyam Joban (40), a diamond broker residing in the Singanpore area of Katargam, committed suicide by consuming an insecticide, the police stated. A suicide note found from near the body on Tuesday evening said that recession in his business had forced him to take the extreme step.

Youth run-over
An unidentified youth was run over by a train on Tuesday afternoon near Lotarwa village near Kakrapar, the rural police said on Wednesday. A complaint lodged by Yashwant Sonar, gateman at Lotarwa in the Kakrapar police station, said that the 25-year old youth was cut down by a Mumbai bound goods train. The police have registered a case and are investigating.

Bootlegger held
The city Prevention of Crime Branch caught a youth selling Indian Made Foreign Liquor on Wednesday and initiated legal proceedings against him. Eknath Ishpar Thamal, originally from Orissa, was arrested from the Udhna- Magdalla Road with 48 bottles of IMFL including gin, brandy and rum, the PCB said.

Driver dead
The driver of a jeep (GBK (9820) who was admitted to the New Civil hospital with serious head injuries on Tuesday died while being treated, the Palsana police said. The unidentified driver was injured when his vehicle skidded off the road beside Titathaiya village in Palsana taluka. A case under IPC 304 (a) has been registered in the police station.
