Three more reported missing in Surat

SURAT, JUNE 16: Three more persons, including a six-year-old girl, have been reported missing, cases registered in police stations of the city and district on Wednesday said. Cases of missing persons have been on the rise in the recent past, even as very few have returned or been traced.

A case registered in the Kamrej police station of the district stated that Asma Ahmed Shaikh (6) is missing from her home since Saturday evening.

Her parents informed the police that she told them she was going to her aunt's house at Soni Falia and has not returned since. According to the police, Asma has an injury mark below the left eye and was wearing a shirt and trousers when last seen.

In the second case registered in the Salabatpura police station on Wednesday afternoon, a 30-year old married woman left her house on Tuesday evening, taking away cash and jewellery with her.

Narsinh Jariwala, the brother-in- law of Kailashben Jariwala, told the police that she left the house with Rs 25,000 in cash, a gold chain weighing 70 grams, two gold bangles weighing 30 grams, two gold rings and silver ornaments. The woman was last seen at her house in Mahalaxmi Krupa Building, Begumpura at around 6 pm.

A newly married woman, Manda Madhav Nimje (24) was also reported missing on Tuesday evening. Her husband Madhav Jagannath Nimje, a resident of Madhunagar area of Limbayat, told the police that his wife was missing since Tuesday morning. She was wearing a blue sari when last seen.
