The first batch of 60 students of this college appeared for their final year examination of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in 1997 and then completed their one year internship in November 1998. The secretary stated that while recognition was granted on the recommendations of Dental Council of India, Government of India issued a notification saying, "Bachelor of Dental Surgery qualification shall be recognised dental qualification in respect of BDS students of BRS Dental College and Hospital, Panchkula, granted on or after May 23, 24 1997."
