NSUI, Youth Congress stage agitation

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, June 19: Representatives of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) and the Youth Congress staged protests in front of several schools on Saturday. The members were demanding admissions of all students in their parent schools. Youth Congress president Narendra Rawat said, ``Many students have cleared their SSC, but they were not admitted in the schools from which they had passed.'' Rawat added that if students were not granted admissions in the schools from which they had passed, other schools would be reluctant to grant admissions to them.

He added that their protest was especially meant for those schools where very high cut-off percents had been fixed for students, and which were not granting admissions to many students from their own school.

Rawat added that their protest was also against the law which denied students who cleared their H Sc in the second attempt admission into engineering regardless of percentage. He added that students who had cleared with a good percent in the second trial should at least be given a chance.
