Former secretary and founder member of CBA, DK Mukerjee was nominated chairman of the CBA. Mukherjee was honoured on the occasion for his selfless contribution in promoting badminton. It was he who was responsible for getting direct affiliation to the Chandigarh Badminton Association from the Badminton Association of India. The other members of the CBA elected were: Subhash Nagpal and BD Gandhi (vice-presidents); Virender Mehta (treasurer) and Surinder Mahajan (technical advisor).
