CHANDIGARH, June 20: Ranji player Vishal Sharma gave a sterling all-round performance as the captain steered Chandigarh Police to facile 84-run victory over Crazy XI in the final of the Red and White Cricket Tournament at Sangla in Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh, according to information received here today.The tall athletic Vishal scored 62 runs with the help of four fours and four sixes as Chandigah Police piled up 189 for 6 in allotted 20 overs. Ramandeep Singh was the other main contributor for Chandigarh Police as he scored 60 runs. The fine knock was studded with three sixes and four fours. Medium pacer Sanjay Kumar of Crazy XI was the most successful bowler as he claimed three wickets for 39 runs.
In reply Crazy XI were bowled out for 105. Only Vijay Negi put up a defiant knock of 31. Vishal Sharma (2 for 20), Pardeep Kumar (3 for 15) and Parminder Singh (3 for 20) were the wrecker-in-chiefs of Crazy XI innings.
Ramandeep of Chandigarh Police was declared the man of the match while Vishal Sharma was adjudged the man of the series. Sher Singh of Chandigarh Police was declared the best bowler.
Besides, the trophy the victorious Chandigarh Police team got a cash prize of Rs 20,000.
This was Chandigarh Police's second title. Earlier, they had won the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Trophy in Shimla.
