Manish and Surender shine

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 20: Unbeaten knock of 47 runs by Manish and fine spell by Surinder Singh (3 for 16) enabled Videocon Cricket Club beat Kalsi XI by 4 wickets in the 11th Bathany cup league cum-knock-out cricket tournament held at CRPF ground today.

Kalsi XI scored 149 in the allotted 25 overs. Manoj and Vikrant Joshi got 40 and 31 runs, respectively for the team.

Surender and Vineet claimed three wickets each for the eventual winners.

In reply Videocon XI got the winning total in the 23rd over.

Manish (47 not out) and Suman (26) were the main scorers for the team.

In another match Telephone Cables Limited (TCL) defeated Youngsters Cricket Club by 62 runs. Parveen scored 69 runs while Neeraj took four wickets for the winners. Hajrat Pal (27) and Giri Raj (28 not out) were the main run getters for Youngsters CC.

TCL XI: 146 in 20 overs (Parveen 69, Sangeet 31, Giri Raj 3 fro 24, Anil 2 for 29); Youngsters CC: 84 in 16.4 overs (Hajrat Pal 27, Giri Raj 28 n.o., Neeraj 4 for 17, Avnish 2 for 9).
