Yeltsin gives Kennedy files to Clinton
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
Washington, June 21: US President Bill Clinton's hour-long summit with Boris Yeltsin yielded an unexpected bonanza on Sunday when the Russian President handed over a thick stack of KGB files on the assassination of John F. Kennedy, press reports said.White House officials reportedly said the declassified reports in Russian would be translated, analysed, and eventually released to the public. The documents are believed to contain, among other items, files of President Kennedy's accused killer Lee Harvey Oswald, who lived in the Soviet Union for some time. The gift, presented on the margin of the G-8 summit, was further evidence that US-Russian relations were back on track. Copyright © 1999 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
