IAS officers shifted

GANDHINAGAR, June 21: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the State Government on Monday shunted out B K Sinha and S Jagadeesan, Commissioners of Ahmedabad and Surat municipal corporations to insignificant postings. Eighteen other IAS officers have also been transferred.

While B K Sinha has been replaced by Gujarat Maritime Board Managing Director K Kailashnathan, Additional Commissioner of Sales Tax G P Mahapatra replaces Jagadeesan who has been transferred as Commissioner of Employment and Training, relieving Jayanti Ravi from additional charge of that post.

Sinha has been transferred as Managing Director of Gujarat State Drinking Water Infrastructure Corporation Ltd and officer on special duty in Sardar Sarovar Canal Based Drinking Water Cell in Gandhinagar. He relieves R K Tripathy of additional charge of that post.

Another significant transfer is that of Principal Secretary in the Energy and Petrochemicals Department, G Subba Rao, who has been replaced by Vijay Ranchan, Additional Chief Secretary in Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.

G Subba Rao has been moved to Industries and Mines Department replacing C K Koshy who has been appointed Managing Director of Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd. Koshi replaces L Mansingh who has been shifted to Social Justice and Empowerment Department as Additional Chief Secretary. Mansingh in turn replaces P K Das who will assume charge of Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department in the same rank as Additional Chief Secretary.

Sudha Anchalia, Commissioner for Departmental Inquiries, Gandhinagar, has been transferred as Commissioner of Land Reforms in the Revenue Department relieving P K Mishra of additional charge of that post. Anchalia is replaced by A R Banerjee who was holding the post of Urban Land Tribunal, Ahmedabad.

V N Maira, Commissioner for Departmental Inquiries, Gandhinagar has been transferred as Secretary in Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department. S K Shekhon was holding additional charge of that post. Maira will hold additional charge of Director of Tourism and Managing Director of Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd.

C M Leuva, Commissioner of Youth Services and Cultural Activities, has been appointed Secretary for Urban Development (Housing) in place of Manjula Subramanium. Sanjeev Mishra, Additional Resident Commissioner, New Delhi, has been appointed as Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation, Gandhinagar, in place of R S Saxena.

P N Roychowdhury, Secretary to Government, Finance Department (EA) Gandhinagar, is transferred as Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Gujarat Maritime Board replacing K Kailashnathan.

Arjun Singh, Commissioner of Mid-day Meal Scheme has been appointed Additional Chief Secretary to Forest and Environment Department (Environment) replacing P M Acharya, who is transferred as Commissioner of Tribal Development relieving N V Modi of additional charge of that post.

G K Makwana, Managing Director of Gujarat Dairy Development Corporation (GDDC), Gandhinagar, has been appointed Commissioner of Relief, Revenue Department, replacing Vijaysinh Parmar, who has been placed under suspension. Makwana will hold additional charge of the post of Managing Director of GDDC until further orders.

R S Saxena Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation has been transferred as Commissioner of Rural Development, Gandhinagar, replacing Hasmukh Adhia who has been appointed Secretary to Finance Department in place of P N Roychowdhury.
