VADODARA, June 21: In a bid to provide amenities for passengers at the Vadodara railway station, the division has installed a machine for supplying pure water, and that too at a lower rate than mineral water bottles. While the mineral water bottles at the station cost Rs 10, passengers taking water from the railways have to pay Rs three to get their containers filled. The machine has been installed on platform number one. Speaking about the facility, Divisional Railway Manager K C Jena said, ``It was a part of our plan to provide passengers with better facilities.''
He added that the railway board had instructed its installation as such facilities had already been installed in other places. Jena added that there were complaints that passengers were receiving recycled mineral water bottles.
``With this facility there would be no possibility of recycling and the passengers would get better water and yet pay a lesser amount,'' said Jena. He added that the division also had other plans to increase the facilities in the station. This was their tie-up with a private company, he said.
